Wind power gets policy tailwind

The central government has put in place detailed guidelines for wind power generators to plug loopholes in contracts, reduce disputes and help achieve its ambitious target of generating 60,000 mw of power from the renewable energy source. "The wind power generator , in a bid to ensure timely commencement of power, will have to submit documents pertaining to land acquisition, no objection certificate and environment clearance, forest clearance and letter from the state and central transmission utilities confirming technical feasibility of connectivity," according to the 20 page guideline issued by the union ministry of power for tariff based competitive bidding process for procurement of power from grid connected wind power projects.
