Windfarm opens on former Welsh coal mine site

Oakdale Colliery wind power project expected to deliver annual carbon savings of 4,400 tonnes, reports BusinessGreen

An old coal mine spoil tip is to provide the location for the UK's latest wind energy project, as Partnerships for Renewables on Thursday prepares to cut the ribbon on a pioneering new two turbine development in South Wales.

The company, which specialises in delivering renewable energy projects in partnership with the public sector, has teamed up with Caerphilly County Borough Council to deliver the 4MW project at the old Oakdale Colliery.
